When asked about the photo, Frank Maguire
replied: ''Interesting photo. It's not earlier than 1950, since Bates
Cabin is in place. The 'ell' (kitchen area) between the farmhouse
and barns in the Training Center is the original one, not the new one built
in 1952, and the cellar entrance under the north barn is wide open, as
if they were still working on the building. I'd say that it
must be between 1950 and 1952, and I guess it must have been one of the
council camporees. The snow bothers me - you can see it piled up
behind the barn as well as on the trails in the background. I was
at the 1952 council camporee held there, but I surely don't remember there
being any snow left around in May!''
